Pet Newsletter April 2026
Date: 1 Apr 2026
Hello everyone!
Our April newsletter includes an update on medication requests, along with some great case studies of patients we have seen across the practice.
Medication requests
To help us care for your pets safely and smoothly, here’s a quick overview of how medication requests work at our clinics.
Plan ahead where possible - If your pet takes regular medication, please allow 7–10 days’ notice before you run out. This gives us time to process your request and arrange any necessary veterinary approval.
Why approval may be required - Most long-term medications can be dispensed as long as your pet has been examined by a vet within the past 6 months. However, not all medications can be supplied under a standard 6-month prescription; some require more frequent checks or have legal restrictions on how much can be dispensed at a time. Requests outside standard prescribing guidelines must be reviewed by a veterinarian. We aim to complete requests within 24–48 hours, though timing may vary depending on vet availability - especially over weekends.
Urgent requests - We may ask how much medication you have left so we can prioritise where possible. We’ll always do our best to help, but same‑day turnaround can’t be guaranteed if vet approval is required. Urgent, same‑day requests will incur a $10 urgent fee.
We’ll keep you updated - Once the vet has reviewed your request, we’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready. Thank you for your patience as we ensure every prescription is handled with care.
