DairyNZ’s InCalf programme looks to improve the key reproductive indices on New Zealand dairy farms by assessing several areas of farm management. Our dairy farmer’s work with trained InCalf advisers to achieve a measured improvement in their herd’s reproductive performance.

Franklin Vets now has fourteen InCalf trained advisers to help you achieve the best results for your farm. Working together, we can accurately assess your farm’s current performance, determine the shortfalls and develop solutions to achieve the best results.

InCalf Testimony

Onewhero dairy farmers Bryce and Rosemarie Costar used the programme to help boost their herd’s reproductive performance. Working with a trained InCalf adviser, they were able to identify the problems and implement better management solutions.

The couple who milk 280 Friesians on a 115-hectare milking platform have noticed vast improvements:

“Since we kicked off, our production to the end of February was up 20 percent. We were fairly hard hit by the drought and we dried off early this year. Despite this, we ended up doing more production than with the previous season, even though we dried off six weeks early. We worked out we saved $46,000 on empties and were able to cull on the things we wanted, not because they were empty. From spending an extra $17,500 we made more than $40,000 just in milk production.”

If you want an insight into how InCalf works without diving in, we offer two packages:
