Michelle Mckeown - Vet Nurse

Michelle joined our Beachlands Clinic in 2020 as a trainee vet nurse, graduating at the end of 2022. Before becoming a vet nurse, she worked at a few boarding kennels as well as owning a few businesses doing gift boxing and dog walking, but she knew she wanted to be a vet nurse from a very early age. Now that she is a nurse, she really couldn't imagine doing anything else. Being a nurse is very rewarding because no two days are the same and Michelle loves that her passion has turned into a career.

Michelle is our cat friendly advocate, which is a requirement for our cat friendly accreditation. She loves being the cat advocate for our clinic and creating solutions to minimise fear and anxiety within the clinical setting. She also loves educating owners about starting this process at home too.

Michelle loves our tight-knit and supportive team, and she thinks it is special how we support each other on those tougher days. She feels she is provided with constant opportunities to upskill within her role. Growing up in Beachlands means that working locally is special for Michelle. She loves that our clinic is new and has great facilities, our BEST practice accreditation means that we do everything to the highest possible standard.

Michelle is particularly interested in medical cases and interesting surgeries. She has a special interest in behaviour, nutrition, and rehabilitation as well as anything involving cats. She has two beautiful rescue cats of her own - Sadie and Radar. These two are quite the superstars and know lots of tricks! Michelle also has a 15-year-old cockatiel named Joey. Outside of work, Michelle tries to spend most of her time outside, at the beach, dancing, crafting, or hanging out with her friends and family.
